The Rotary Club of Nantucket’s major fundraiser for its scholarship program is the Annual Auction.

This year it was held on Saturday, May 15, 2010, at Cisco Brewers, 5 Bartlett Farm Road, raising over $10,000.

In 2008 the club made a commitment to “raise the bar” for its auction to increase the amount of scholarship money it could provide to graduating seniors of Nantucket High School and make additional years scholarships available to the recipients.  The newly established program committee introduced a new theme, and with a change of venue, musical entertainment, increased public relations, fabulous items donated by the local business community, and increased commitment and participation by club members, Blazing Paddles  was an incredible success raising over $22,000 for scholarships.

Our Scholarship Fund has committed to providing $2,500 annually to each of four Nantucket High School graduates attending college, up to $10,000 per student and a total of $40,000.
