The Rotary Club of Nantucket is collecting "Boxtops for Education" and will contribute them to four Nantucket schools. The schools redeem them for ten cents each, which can add up to a considerable amount over time. The coupons are found on many grocery products, particularly cereal boxes and Ziplock packages (to see what they look like, click on above "Rotary Boxtop Project" headline, then on attached photo pdf). Rotarians turn them in at our weekly luncheons. Project coordinator is Paula Leary, who can be reached at nrta@nantucket.net.

Students involved in Interact Club at Nantucket High School are organizing an event to raise money to purchase shelter boxes for immediate relief in Haiti. Shelter boxes provide an all weather durable tent for ten people, water purification system, sleeping bags, cooking aids and utensils, practical tool kit, and children’s pack.

Students at Nantucket High School recently formed an Interact Club sponsored by the Rotary Club of Nantucket.  Interact is Rotary International’s service club for young people between the ages of 14 and 18. Interact Clubs are sponsored by individual Rotary Clubs - who provide support and guidance - however the Interact Clubs are self-governing and self-supporting.
