The 7th Annual Ms. Mantucket Charity event was a huge success!  Congratulations to Ms. Mantucket 2010 - Joe Townsend - Ms.

In January 2010 a terrible earthquake hit the island of Haiti. To assist the suffering islanders, our Rotary Club collected funds for two Shelterboxes and for assistance for the owner of a search/sniffer dog who went to Haiti entirely on his own and with his dog helped find people buried in the rubble.

The Rotary Club of Nantucket on Saturday, December 5, 2009, participated in our annual fundraiser during Nantucket's Christmas Stroll - "Sausages & Soda".  Held beside the food tent in the Grand Union Parking Lot, the sale of sweet sausage sandwiches (with onions and green peppers in a big roll)  raises money for the Rotary Club of Nantucket's student scholarship fund. In 2009 a rainy and windy day cut way back on our fundraiser, and leftover sausages were sold to Rotary members until they were gone.

The Rotary Club of Nantucket is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2009 Community Service Scholarship Awards. Out of numerous applications, Miranda Dale, Matthew Fry, Molly MacKay and Helen Morely were first selected in 2008 for their dedication to activities, and obvious commitment to serving the Nantucket community. Their awards continue from last year's initial 4-year award.

New recipients in June 2009 include Lacey Johnson (four years), Craig Wade (four years), and Jennifer Chadwick (two years).

In the spring and throughout the summer you will see Rotarians maintaining the plantings at the Milestone Rotary on Saturday mornings.  Look for the daffodils to bloom in early March, and for new blooms and ever-greenery throughout the summer.  For the past 4 years club members have improved and maintained the Rotary and its triangles, by weeding, collecting trash, and planting 1,600 daffodils so the entire community can enjoy the beauty as you pass by.  The Rotary Club of Nantucket would like to thank Valero and Sons for their donation of weed preventative, fertilizer and mu

The Rotary Club of Nantucket has sponsored two major fundraising events, Ms Mantucket and beginning in 2008, the Blazing Paddles auction, to increase the scholarship dollars provided annually to Nantucket graduates. Due to the success of these events the Rotary Club of Nantucket provided $40,000.00 in multi-year scholarships to graduates of the Class of 2008 and 2009.
