The Rotary Club of Nantucket is developing a program for educating and creating awareness of the problem of deer ticks on Nantucket, and working to help eliminate these disease causing pests. Many visitors are not aware that a deer tick bite may cause Lyme and other diseases. Treatment is available but should be started as soon as one is aware of a tick bite.  Last fall Daminex tubes were applied at the Delta Fields to help reduce the number of ticks in that area.
